The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has greenlit two significant semiconductor manufacturing projects in Gujarat under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).
At the focal point is the establishment of the country’s first commercial mini/micro-LED display facility. Utilising advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, this first-of-its-kind project in Dholera joins a new assembly unit in Surat to drive a combined investment of ₹3,936 crore
Together, as an official release states, these initiatives under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) are expected to create over 2,200 skilled jobs and significantly reduce the nation’s reliance on imported display and chip components.
