Centre Authorizes Officials for Sabarmati – Dholera – Lothal Railway Projects in Gujarat

The Central Government has authorized designated district-level officers in Gujarat as "Competent Authorities" for land acquisition and related statutory processes for two major Special Railway Projects under the Western Railway's Bhavnagar Division:

1. Doubling of the Sabarmati D Cabin–Sarkhej railway section

2. New broad-gauge double line between Sarkhej and Dholera with a spur line to Lothal

These authorizations, issued by the Ministry of Railways, are effective from the date of publication in the Gazette and are intended to facilitate timely land acquisition and clearances, enabling faster progress on these strategic projects, which are crucial for enhancing rail connectivity to hubs like Dholera SIR and the nationally important Lothal NMHC .
